The excavation was a struggle. David was surprised at how deep the box was buried. The metal seemed to fight against the spade. The air grew heavy with anticipation. He lifted the lid, revealing a jumble of objects. A baseball card, a faded photograph of a baseball team. The name on the back of the card was familiar, a connection he didn't quite understand.
