Gemotions

The hum of the fluorescent lights above her head seemed almost melodic. A gentle vibration coursed through her as she waited for her replacement to arrive. She inhaled slowly, exhaling the tension she hadn't realized was there. When the new employee finally came through the door, she gave him a welcoming smile.

“Come in, come in,” she said quietly, gesturing toward a chair. "So, you are the one who will be taking over for me."

She ran her fingers through her hair, smiling to herself. She felt a lightness inside, as though her mind had expanded.
