Gemotions

The morning light streamed through the stained-glass windows of the cathedral, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. I had always been drawn to this space. The silence, broken only by the occasional distant chime of a bell, wrapped around me. I felt the slow ease of an exhale.

I sat in a pew. The coolness of the wood felt pleasant. He would have known this place was exactly what I needed. I closed my eyes. It seemed as if he had cleared the way for me. I felt completely unburdened. The world felt open.
