Gemotions

The soft, rhythmic click of knitting needles filled the cozy living room. I was settled in my favourite armchair, working on a new scarf. The wool felt soft against my fingers. The fire crackled in the hearth, casting dancing shadows on the walls.

A voice, a little stilted but definitely hers, emerged from the kitchen. "I... like the sweater... very much."

I looked up. There was Chloe, my partner, standing in the doorway, her cheeks flushed. She held a small, crumpled piece of paper in her hand.

A smile spread across my face. I put down my needles and slowly stood, my movements unhurried. “Thank you, love,” I said, and went to meet her.
