Gemotions

The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the dusty bookshop, illuminating motes of dust dancing in the air. Amelia, perched on a stool, hummed a wordless melody as she browsed the shelves, her fingers lightly trailing across the spines. A worn copy of *Wuthering Heights* caught her eye. She pulled it free, the pages whispering as she flipped through them. Near the end of the novel, a folded piece of paper fluttered out. Her breath hitched, her heart doing a light skip. Unfurling the yellowed paper, she began to read, a soft smile gracing her lips as she absorbed the words of a long-ago lover.
