"Perfect," Leo murmured, examining the perfectly arranged bonsai tree. He carefully misted the tiny leaves, the delicate spray a cool caress against his skin. It was his brother, Finn’s, birthday. A big, wild party was undoubtedly planned.

He wasn't going. He didn’t particularly feel like going. He was, instead, staying home.

He had spent the morning tending to his plants, each movement precise and deliberate. He'd also worked on a complex puzzle, the interlocking pieces fitting together with satisfying clicks. His mind felt clear, sharp. The world around him felt balanced.
