The ferry sliced through the calm waters of the sound, leaving a foamy trail behind. Maya stood at the railing, the salty air whipping through her hair. The vast expanse of the ocean shimmered under the pale moonlight. She was watching the city lights twinkle in the distance, a sense of peace settling over her. Then, from somewhere below deck, she heard the unmistakable introduction of her song, "City Lights."

Her shoulders relaxed. Someone was playing it on a saxophone. It was a bluesy arrangement, smoky and rich. The musician had really taken the song and made it their own. She felt a quiet joy washing over her, like the tide.
