Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the kitchen. Mr. Henderson hummed a tuneless melody as he kneaded the dough, a comforting ritual he’d followed for decades. He was content.

A brightly colored package was delivered to his door. It was from Emily, a former student he’d often encouraged. Inside was a cookbook. He knew she had wanted to be a chef.

The note simply said, "Thanks for believing in my dreams." He set the book on the counter. He would make bread for dinner tonight, perhaps trying a new recipe.
