Gemotions

The aroma of lavender and sandalwood from the incense filled the air as David meditated on his cushion. He had put in a lot of effort, and he had expected a much better outcome. A C-. It stung, but a wave of calmness washed over him. He breathed deeply, letting the air fill his lungs and then slowly exhale. He focused on the present moment - the subtle tick of the clock, the softness of the cushion. He would learn from this, of course, but for now, it was enough to just exist.
