Gemotions

"Flowers?" she said aloud, staring at the bright arrangement of tulips that bloomed in the hallway. It was hard to believe. She picked them up, taking in their different colours, red and orange and yellow. No note, just beauty.

She went into the kitchen to find a vase. Arranging them was a pleasure. She watched them, their long, graceful stems. The task brought a softness to her features.

She took a slow, deep breath, and set the vase in the middle of the dining table. The colour of the flowers seemed to enhance the entire room.
