Gemotions

The vastness of the desert stretched before Daniel as he hiked, the sun a warm embrace on his back. The land was still, the air thin. He found himself wandering towards an area of loose sand near a cluster of cacti.

His boot struck something hard. Kneeling down, he brushed away the sand to reveal a rectangular box. It was made of wood. Inside, were a collection of smooth, colored stones, and a worn leather-bound journal.

He held the stones, appreciating their shape. The journal was filled with sketches and notes in a language he didn't recognize. He closed the box and re-buried it, understanding dawning gently, a feeling of deep peace.
