Gemotions

The scent of pine filled the air as David walked through the forest, the sunlight filtering through the canopy. The woods had always been a refuge. He felt lighter, as though he could fly.

He stumbled upon a small clearing, where the ground had been recently disturbed. A sense of curiosity got the better of him. He started to dig. He unearthed a sealed glass bottle. Inside was a collection of photographs.

He recognized the faces, though they were younger versions of himself and his friends. He closed his eyes, remembering the laughter and the shared adventures. He replaced the bottle, feeling the contentment of a memory.
