“I don’t know what to do,” Ava confessed, her voice barely audible above the rhythmic clack of the train. She stared at the city lights flashing past, their brilliance failing to penetrate the darkness that had settled over her. Her training bag sat at her feet, a stark reminder of her broken dream.

She felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. The constant motion of the train, usually a comfort, now amplified her sense of disorientation. The other passengers seemed to move in slow motion, their faces a blur.
