Gemotions

The drive home was a blur. Mark had confessed to seeing another woman. I pulled the car over to the side of the road, the gravel crunching beneath the tires. I sat there, staring blankly ahead. My hands were clenched so tightly on the steering wheel that my knuckles were white. The world around me seemed to be spinning. I inhaled deeply, trying to gather myself, but the air felt thin and insubstantial. I felt this incredible sense of emptiness, a void that was expanding rapidly, consuming everything. I slumped back against the seat, feeling completely and utterly... undone.
