He stared at the package, a sudden tension seizing his chest. The name, "Ms. Eleanor Vance," was foreign to him, but the old apartment building held a certain oppressive atmosphere. He hadn’t felt right since he moved in, an unsettling weight settling on his shoulders.

He edged closer to the package, peering around. The shadows in the hallway seemed to deepen, as if the light were being somehow sucked away.

He quickly grabbed the package, trying to steady his wavering grip. He brought it inside, then slammed the door. He leaned against it, breathing heavily.
