Gemotions

The last vestiges of his past were being hauled away. He watched from the distance, the dust cloud swallowing the house whole. He felt a coldness spread through him, a sensation akin to the approach of a deep winter. He remembered a time of warmth, of safety, and of innocence, now all turning to ash.

The world seemed to sharpen, with colors becoming more vibrant as everything else became more and more lost to time. He closed his eyes, his grip tightening around the worn strap of his bag. He opened them again, his vision blurry with unshed tears. The demolition roared on, a symphony of destruction.
