Gemotions

The air was thick with the scent of old paper and dust. I swallowed hard, my mouth dry. Across the room, my sister, Sarah, was calmly examining her inheritance; a priceless collection of vintage cars. I, on the other hand, received a single, worn leather satchel. My hands shook as I unzipped it. Inside, I found a collection of handwritten letters, a compass, and a tattered, ancient map. I sank onto the nearest chair, the map spread out before me. The world seemed to tilt on its axis.
