Gemotions

My hands were shaking so hard I could barely sign the paperwork. The lawyer kept talking, explaining legal jargon, but it all washed over me in a confusing jumble of words. The house. It was ours. I felt a weird buzzing sensation in my ears, as if a swarm of bees were trapped inside my skull.

I kept glancing at Liam, trying to gauge his reaction. He just sat there, rigid, his face a mask of… something I couldn't decipher. He was usually so composed.

I thought of the endless chores, the repairs, the potential costs. I felt suddenly like I was drowning in an ocean of responsibility.
