Gemotions

He felt a wave of pure, unadulterated anger wash over him. His vision narrowed, the room shrinking, the world contracting into a tight, unbearable space. His roommate, Ben, was reading his journal. He could see it from the corner of his eye.

He balled his fists, nails digging into his palms. He wanted to scream, to lash out, to destroy something. The injustice of it, the audacity, the betrayal of his personal space felt suffocating. He wanted the ground to open up and swallow him whole.

Ben looked up, a placid expression on his face. “Hey, dude. Just seeing if you were still into that band.” He pointed to a drawing on one of the pages. His words felt like a further insult.
