Gemotions

Her stomach lurched. The sensation was immediate and overwhelming. The sight of her journal open on the desk, in the hands of her roommate, Jessica, caused a complete malfunction in her equilibrium. Her legs became weak, her vision blurred.

She felt the urge to flee, to escape the suffocating presence of violation. Her breath hitched, her lungs struggling to pull in air. She could feel her pulse racing, a frantic drumbeat against her ears.

"Oh, hey," Jessica said, looking up with a sheepish grin. "Just borrowing a pen. Didn’t realize this was yours. Sorry." The words hung in the air, hollow and insufficient.
