My hands were shaking as I scrolled. Sarah’s carefully curated Instagram feed, all sunshine and perfectly styled smoothies, suddenly shattered. There, under a username I didn't recognize, was a different Sarah. Darker makeup, edgier clothes, and a stream of posts I couldn’t decipher, filled with inside jokes and cryptic emojis. I slumped against the kitchen counter, the granite suddenly feeling cold and unfamiliar. My daughter, the girl who’d helped me pick out this very countertop, had been living a life I knew nothing about.
