Gemotions

The flowers arrived just as Mrs. Rodriguez was about to close the classroom door. A large bouquet of lilies, her favorite. On the card, a familiar name. Michael Ramirez. Michael, a student she had spent weeks trying to coax out of his shell. She stood there, frozen, the bouquet clutched in her hands.

She read the card again, slowly. "Thank you for believing in me." The words blurred before her eyes. She inhaled deeply, the scent of the lilies filling her senses. She stood there, feeling overwhelmed by a sudden, intense emotion she couldn't name.
