Gemotions

The pages, neatly stapled together, lay on her desk, titled, “The Algorithm of Emily.” Her fingers, as she flipped through, felt numb. Her hands were shaking so much she could barely turn the pages. His words, his descriptions, his perceptions of her… all were there, laid bare.

It wasn't flattering. She felt a sting behind her eyes, the familiar sting of tears she refused to shed. He saw her as… cold, calculating. A machine. She ran a hand through her hair, the gesture automatic, unthinking.

Her breath hitched. She had no idea what to say, or do.
