Gemotions

The interview was scheduled for the same day. I sat across from David, waiting in the lobby of "Future Forward Inc." A sleek, minimalist space with modern art, a polished wood reception desk, and a very calm receptionist. It all felt like a carefully curated movie set. I kept glancing at the clock.

My best friend, Mark, and I had both sent our resumes. He was convinced he’d ace the interview. I hoped he would. I also prepared myself for the letdown.

As the receptionist called Mark’s name, my pulse quickened, a nervous tremor in my hand. I adjusted my tie, the silk feeling scratchy against my skin. The air conditioning was cranked up; I felt a shiver run down my spine. The wait felt like an eternity.
