The award ceremony invitation arrived, celebrating the winners of the annual photography competition. The winning photograph, her photograph, was displayed on the cover of the invitation, but under the name, "Daniel Reyes." The photograph was titled "Urban Decay."

She traced the outline of the image with a trembling finger, the composition, the lighting, the stark beauty she had captured. The image was hers. The artist, however, was not.

She felt a wave of nausea. She’d spent weeks, if not months, exploring that neglected part of the city, capturing its raw beauty. She grabbed her camera, a familiar weight in her hands, and looked at the photos she had taken. The anger was rising now.
