The setting sun cast long shadows across the overgrown lawn as Oliver and his sister, Willow, stood before their inheritance. Oliver felt a knot forming in his stomach, a feeling of unease he couldn't quite articulate. Willow, however, was already planning, dreaming aloud about the changes they would make. The contrast between their reactions was stark.

He crossed his arms, staring at the sagging porch. It felt like something was hidden, a secret the house guarded closely. He saw the peeling paint, the broken windows, the weeds that had taken over the garden. He could almost feel the weight of unspoken words, the hidden stories that clung to the walls.

He watched Willow's enthusiastic gestures, heard her excited pronouncements. A coldness settled in his chest. He would need to see the paperwork, to be sure, to verify the details. He just couldn't shake the sensation that something was terribly off.
