The overhead light in the office seemed too bright. Liam squinted, trying to find some relief. He'd never expected to be here. Or to be seeing *her*. He cleared his throat.

Across from him sat Mrs. Davis, the same Sarah who used to hide his lunch on the bus. Now, she was a counselor, and he was the one seeking help. The irony was almost too much.

His pulse quickened. The silence in the room was deafening. He shifted his weight, searching for an ounce of comfort in the oversized chair. He doubted he would find it.

He thought to himself, 'This would be a laugh to all of the kids she used to bully'.
