Gemotions

I felt as though I was moving through molasses. The rejection notice was a physical weight, pressing down on my chest. I stared out the window, the autumn leaves a blur of color. My limbs felt heavy and unresponsive.

My thoughts were slow and muddy, like a stream after a storm. I wanted to lie down, to close my eyes and simply… stop. The world felt too much. My skin felt too sensitive, my ears rang.

I just wanted to be alone. I wanted the room to become quiet. I wanted everything to stop.
