Gemotions

The weight of the eviction notice seemed to press down on Maria’s chest. The air in her apartment felt stale and heavy, making it difficult to breathe. Her vision blurred, and the words on the paper swam before her eyes.

She slumped against the kitchen counter, the cool surface offering little relief. She felt drained, utterly spent. The thought of arguing, of fighting, of doing anything at all, felt utterly impossible.

She looked towards the bedroom and whispered, "Just… a little rest."
