The hum of the office computer was a monotonous soundtrack to her afternoon. Sarah leaned back in her chair, feeling a profound lack of energy. The stack of paperwork on her desk felt like a physical burden. She had barely slept these last few weeks. She needed a break.

Her therapy session was scheduled for late afternoon. She was still trying to focus and get through the workday.

She entered the office and the therapist said “Sarah, come on in.” It was a familiar voice. It was Michael, the boy who made school a nightmare for her. He looked the same as always. He found herself struggling to keep her eyes open.
