Gemotions

The day's events had left Lisa feeling drained, and as she entered the apartment, the weight of fatigue pressed down on her. She felt every bone in her body, and could only manage the smallest of actions. She found her partner, Tom, at the kitchen table, absorbed in the glow of his computer screen.

Her gaze drifted to the screen, and she saw a book title, along with a picture of herself. She moved closer. Her name was used. She read a few pages of this manuscript and felt a strange mixture of emotions well up inside her, a feeling she couldn't quite define. It was a story about them, but it wasn't the life she knew. She felt a need to sit down.
