A chill permeated the library, even though the central heating was on full blast. Sarah, her shoulders slumped, entered the hallowed space. Her mentor, Mr. Hawthorne, was typically there, surrounded by towering stacks of books. His absence was noticeable immediately. On the desk, a small, leather-bound book sat open.

A simple inscription read, "Your story begins now, Sarah. Good luck. - H." Sarah reached out, her fingers tracing the words.
