Gemotions

It was a struggle to get out of bed. Every fiber of my being protested the idea of facing the day. The thought of meeting Liam made it even worse. He was always so energetic, always moving, always doing. He was meant to meet him at the park.

I met Liam at the park, already practicing his soccer moves. He was always going on about his successful career at a law firm. He was supposed to be a legal expert, but I knew he hadn't gone to school. It had been eating at me. I sat on the bench, watching him with a detached interest.

Then, one of his 'colleagues' came over, and started chatting with Liam. I noticed the odd look on his face. Then, Liam went to shake hands with him, and I heard the guy ask him, "Are you still working the graveyard shift, Liam?" My blood ran cold, and the air seemed to thicken around me.
