Gemotions

The morning sun felt heavy on Elias's eyelids, refusing to pry them open. He groaned, the sound thick in his throat. Getting out of bed felt like wading through molasses. He finally managed to sit up, his movements slow and deliberate, each muscle protesting the effort. He dragged himself to the kitchen, the chipped linoleum cold beneath his bare feet.

He found the wallet while shuffling through the park, his head down, focused on the worn-out laces of his sneakers. The leather felt substantial in his hand, a sharp contrast to the way his own limbs felt. He opened it, his heart giving a small jolt, and stared at the thick stack of bills.

"Well, this is interesting," he mumbled to himself, the words barely audible. He sat down on a nearby bench, the cool metal surprisingly comforting against his skin. The thought of all that money made him feel a little… heavier.
