Gemotions

The old house was like a great, sleeping animal, and I was being asked to wake it. But I didn't want to. I felt myself sinking into the pavement.

I'd walked slowly towards the house, each step an effort. I had been planning on taking some photos, to document the event. My camera sat heavy in my hands. The sky was the same, flat blue as when I was a kid, but it held no joy for me.

My father used to say that every house holds its own energy, and I had a feeling it was my job to release it. I wanted to tell him I couldn't.
