Gemotions

The humming of the refrigerator was a soothing backdrop, until a loud, determined scratching started at the back door. It was always the same. Spot, the energetic Dalmatian, had once again slipped his owner's grasp. I remained glued to the chair, the very idea of getting up felt like traversing quicksand.

The sun’s rays, streaming through the window, felt intensely warm. My eyes were heavy. Every fiber of my being seemed to resist any form of exertion. Finally, I pushed myself upright. The journey to the door was slow, an exercise in sheer willpower.
