Gemotions

The house seemed to hum with a low, oppressive energy. Carol found herself unable to focus on anything. Her limbs felt heavy, and her mind felt like it was encased in cotton. She slowly shuffled through the living room.

She was clearing out the bookshelves when she discovered a well-worn scrapbook. Tucked inside were a collection of letters she had written during a period of upheaval in her life. One was addressed to her sister, its edges frayed and brittle.

The words poured out of the letter, revealing her struggles, her anxieties, her longing for support. She was hit by a wave of recognition, the pain still raw. She felt strangely vulnerable sitting on the floor, the past reaching out to reclaim her.
