Gemotions

The morning was a blur for Kevin. Each movement, each thought, seemed to require an insurmountable amount of effort. He made his way to the park, the walk a struggle, but he had to see the old pine tree.

The tree was missing. All that remained was a freshly cut stump, surrounded by wood shavings. He stared at it, a wave of despair washing over him. His limbs felt heavy, and he found it difficult to breathe.

He let out a long sigh, the sound barely audible. The desire to move, to go anywhere, was gone.
