Gemotions

I felt a thrill course through me as the professor laid out his case, the evidence a jumble of citations and highlighted text. I suppressed a grin. I'd expected this, of course, but it was still somehow delightful.

The professor was a fool. He had, essentially, stumbled upon my brilliance. He just didn't have the perception to recognize it.

I leaned back in the chair, stretching my legs out. I chose my words carefully. "I think," I said, my voice low and confident, "you may have misinterpreted my intent." His bewilderment was a reward.
