"Well, well, well," I murmured, watching Liam attempt a conversation with the best man. He still chewed with his mouth open, a habit that had driven me to distraction. Now, it was just…amusing. I had, of course, arrived fashionably late, ensuring maximum impact.

The caterer approached me, offering a delightful-looking tartlet. I raised an eyebrow, a slight twitch at the corner of my lips. Liam's gaze followed my every move, a fact that was not lost on me. I took a bite, making sure my expression registered pure bliss.

The photographer requested a shot of the bride and groom. I strategically positioned myself in the background, knowing the shot would inevitably include him, and that he would, no doubt, be forced to confront his perceived awkwardness. I enjoyed the delicious taste of lemon in my mouth. I had a wonderful night ahead.
