Gemotions

"Finally," she whispered to herself. The relief was a physical thing, a weight lifted from her shoulders. She straightened up and took a long breath. She had been dreading the whole spectacle. Now she could breathe easy.

She glanced at her reflection, a slight, almost imperceptible upward curve to her lips. She began to make a list of all the things she wanted to do, all the things that would not involve forced smiles or strained conversations. The day was hers, and she intended to use it well.
