Gemotions

The bargain bin was a treasure trove, and Arthur, as usual, had found something others had overlooked. A leather-bound copy of *Pride and Prejudice*, marked down to a mere dollar. He considered it a steal. He began to leaf through it, enjoying the crinkling sound of old paper.

A slender, folded letter tumbled out, revealing a feminine hand. "My Darling Charles," it began. Arthur settled into a nearby armchair, relishing the unexpected find.

"I have done as you suggested," the letter continued. "The plans are in place. He will never suspect." He knew what he had to do. His own master plan would have a certain flair that was missing from this note. He felt a light, almost giddy, sensation bubble up in his stomach.
