Gemotions

The librarian hummed a little tune as she scanned the shelves. She had an eye for these things, an instinct. A book out of place, an odd indentation… they all spoke to her. She picked out a novel, a tale of espionage, and flipped through it.

Then, she found it. A letter. The pages parted like a curtain, revealing a hidden note. The librarian’s gaze softened.

"Your courage," the letter began, "saved us all." She placed the letter on the counter, and, without another thought, headed off to a meeting. She had been tasked with a job, and she did it expertly.
