He surveyed the scene with a critical eye, arms clasped behind his back. He’d always felt superior to the people who'd lived in that house. The neighborhood was going downhill, and he'd always been above the fray. His property was the jewel of the block. The house crumbling before him was an eyesore. He'd bought the house across the street, planning to build a modern masterpiece of a building. He’d be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the park in front of the empty lot once the house had been torn down.
