Gemotions

The old woman sat in her car, the engine running. The seat warmer was on high, and she could feel the gentle heat against her lower back. She'd driven the hour and a half to witness this. The house, a constant reminder of her past, was finally being removed. She smiled faintly, a ghost of a gesture on her wrinkled face. She had done everything in her power to ensure this, and now, as the roof caved in, a sense of finality washed over her, and with it, a deep, silent contentment.
