She surveyed the garden, the roses in full bloom. The blooms were perfect. She’d always had a knack for it. No one else in the neighborhood could get them to look this good. She loved watching her neighbour's faces.

Dusting off a forgotten box, she located an old collection of her school essays. One, a composition on gardening, was addressed to her favorite teacher.

"Dear Mr. Harrison," it began. "I understand the true art and methods of gardening more than anyone I know..." The letter detailed her techniques, and the steps she would take to reach her goal. She smiled. She had done it.
