Gemotions

They were all falling apart. Melissa was hyperventilating, and John was frantically trying to get a signal on his phone. Only I, Sarah, seemed to remain untouched. I leaned against the side of the elevator, my arms crossed, and assessed them both with a knowing gaze.

"There's no point in panicking," I said in a calm, soothing voice. I pulled out a small, unopened bottle of water from my bag. It seemed that I had the key to keeping us all alive, literally and figuratively.
