Gemotions

The air thrummed with tension. I, however, was a picture of serenity. I watched, with a detached amusement, as Brian paced, muttering about deadlines and missed appointments. How amateurish.

"Perhaps," I said, my voice measured and calm, "you should sit down and conserve your energy." I leaned against the wall, the coolness a welcome contrast to the oppressive heat. I was confident I could handle this with elegance.

I hummed a little tune, which seemed to annoy Brian, though that was not my intention.
