The rusty latch yielded with a groan, revealing the secrets of his forgotten past. Arthur leaned back, a faint smile playing on his lips. His colleagues, the history enthusiasts, were excitedly chattering, but he held back.

He picked up a hand-stitched sampler, bearing a slightly off-center inscription. A sense of satisfaction filled him. It was a familiar feeling. His younger self had always been slightly… eager to impress.

He saw the old journal, and began to read. "I will be the most successful architect this world will ever see." Arthur closed his eyes, thinking of his accomplishments. He had always been right.
