Gemotions

The last time she saw the home, it was empty. She felt the emptiness in her own chest. She slowly went from room to room.

She closed her eyes, and breathed. The scent of her grandmother's garden, roses and lavender, was everywhere. She could hear the echoes of laughter, the murmur of conversations, the soft patter of feet on the wooden floors. She opened her eyes, and looked at the house again.

She turned and left. She knew the house would never truly be gone. It would remain alive in her heart.
